Ist Grade Abstract Fish Inspired by Paul Klee

In art class the students looked at the artwork of Paul Klee (1879-1940), who made paintings of strange creatures that he invented from his imagination.  One of his favorite subject matters was painting fish.
Each student created a fish in a fishbowl inspired by Paul Klee’s “Around the Fish” painting. We used a fishbowl instead of a plate.

They learned about:
-patterns
-printing
-oil transfer
-abstract art
